Delivery rates by zip / postal code

With Alpaca you can configure delivery rates to only be shown to specific zip or postal codes. Here’s how:

  1. Open Alpaca from the Apps section of your Shopify admin.
  2. Select Settings in the top right of the Alpaca dashboard.
  3. Select the Delivery tab.
  4. From the Local delivery rates section, ensure that delivery is enabled for the location(s) where you want to customize delivery rates.
  5. If you haven’t added any delivery rates, click Add rate to add your first delivery rate. Otherwise, click Edit on the delivery rate you’d like to customize.
  6. Make sure that Show rate based on zip / postal code match is selected. In the field below, enter the zip / postal codes that should be eligible for the selected delivery rate. This field accepts several different formats which are described below.

Zip / postal code formats

  • Ranges: You can match a range of zip codes by entering a hyphen in between two zip codes. For example, 23500-24000.
  • Wildcards: You can match a group of zip / postal codes by adding a star as a wildcard. For example, 23* would match any zip code starting with 23, and K1* would match any postal code starting with K1.
  • Exact matches: Enter the exact zip / postal code you want to match. For example, 26789.
  • Combining the above: Ranges, wildcards, and exact matches can be grouped together as one rule when you separate different formats with a comma. For example, 23500-24000, 23*, 26789 is a valid input.
